Well today I couldn't resist going back to the alley where I found the 2 pieces a couple of days ago. I took a big bar to pop the other ones out of the ground and I found 5 more pieces that I think may be something cool. These are still dirty, my hose is still frozen. going from left to right here are individual shots This one I took in the house and washed it off in the sink. I think it is next in the saw. Im gonna have to start checking around the neighborhood now! One of the old timers that lives close to there, told me that the rockhound who filled up the rock warehouse used to live in that house and had a huge rockpile in the alley until he bought the warehouse. Any ideas on ID's would be great. Thanks for lookin...................Tony

LOL - that was my thought, gemni. Remind me not to drive down that alley any time soon!
I can't wait to see pictures of the one that's destined for the saw next. It looks really promising.

I filled in all the holes with gravel and lava rock, theres lots of that around. You almost can't tell I was there. I would say onyx also. Here is the first slab off of the one that I cleaned up. Looks pretty good!! Tony

Great finds! That slab seems to say :" Keep searching! It's worth!"

Ooh, those colours are really nice! Hopefully, it's hard enough to work with.

Those colors are really nice - very appropriate for spring!
If you keep up filling the holes, the alley might be in better shape after you're finished!

Brian walks out into the desert and rocks just appear... You walk into an ALLEY and rocks appear... Nice slab you've cut off your find.

ohhhhhhh thats pretty.......... did you wash it off in the kitchen sink? ?? lol Heck yes, one sink has to be always left open for rock related washing. Don't you have that rule in your house?

Oh yeah, a knife will scratch it, but it seems harder than the onyx that I have cut for other people.
