I've been trying to squeeze in as much time on my cabbing machine as possible. I've been doing a pretty good job of it lately, so I've got a whole bunch of cabs to share. Unknown, and my least favorite of the bunch...rather pitty material. Picture jasper: Really cool moss agate: Labradorite from Ralph & Maryann...this stuff is SO tough to photograph in artificial light. Some of Michaeljohn's Chrysocolla: Cool agate: A little experiment...a pet wood guitar pick for my husband. It even has a little place to rest your thumb, although you can't see it in this picture. I didn't polish it beyond 3micron because I didn't want it to get too slippery: And finally...Quantum Quattro from Cal. After all of your suggestions, I got some diamond paste and a leather wheel. I got a really good shine, but just as I was finishing up...disaster struck. I think I'll take the large hunk and turn it into a square instead. Hope you enjoy them. -Nichole

Love the moss agate and the guitar pick! That's a real bummer about the quantum quattro, hope you can rework it.
Looks like you're havin' fun!

Those are great, Nichole! I like the shape of the broken one... I'd say just work the edges as it is...it is an interesting shape! I like that picture jasper and the moss. Tony

The "really cool moss agate" is my favorite, but the other ones are beautifull too.

That moss agate almost looks like it has bobe structure. It does draw the eye.

Sweeeet cabs Titania! I thoroughly enjoy seeing everyones progress and cabs. I really like that Moss Agate but the unknown is tops! Love the shape on that too. I don't know how you can get them so pointy sharp! Steve

Nice job on these cabs, great shapes and the shine is awesome. Glad you finally started using diamond on leather for your polish. You'll find it polishes just about everything.

You did a super job. The guitar pic is a really cool idea. I have tried a couple different things with the leather wheel; I think the spray bottle in one hand and cab in the other is the one that has worked best for me; nothing disaster proof yet.

Those are all SWEET! I would say you are in the groove now. With the broken one can you make two out of it? Thats what I would do sometimes.

We've got 2 out of the 3 rooms done, though. This week will be ripping up the final carpet and starting in on the last bedroom...the end is in sight!

I have tried a couple different things with the leather wheel; I think the spray bottle in one hand and cab in the other is the one that has worked best for me; nothing disaster proof yet. While pretty, the guitar pick didn't last too long...it chipped after hubby used it for a while. I think I'll give another one a try, though. A boring chunk of agate that is extremely uniform might just do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion on the spray bottle. I wondered if I wasn't keeping the leather moist enough.
