I just got a THUMLERS twin and the motor says it needs to be oiled, it does not say how often and does not say where to put the oil. It is a model # AR-2. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Neeeeil

The oil goes on the rollers that the barrel sits on. Don't get any on the belt. "3in1" oil is the best. Oil as needed.

I have been oiling the roller bearings, but the motor specifically says that it needs SAE20 weight oil as well, my manual doesn't mention it, but it stands to reason that a motor needs oil! Thanks for the feedback! Neeeeil

Unless you have a Zerk, or cup fitting on the armature of the motor, it is using the sintered bronze bushing/bearings. Usually they will be sealed by close tolerance fit. Adding oil to the motor bearings that are sintered will shorten the life of the bearing. At assembly a silicone base lubricant is hot injected throughout the bearing itself. A general rule of thumb, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Sometimes there are exceptions to the rule. I would look really hard at the bearings before I lubricated it. The roller bearings, yes, it helps to lubricate. I use lithium lube. With sintered bearings they are meant to operate dry. The bronze flakes and provides microscopic bearing surfaces. I have found the lacquer seperating the armature wires breaks down at the same time the bearings go way out of round. With the motor, you might try contacting the manufacturer to definatively acquire the answer. Adding oil might impare the brushes also. The wetting additives tend to make the oil flow, sometimes into unusual areas.
