I've been making new keyboards, experimenting with other stones - while the river-rock keyboard is a huge hit with its new owner, I had always intended to make a keyboard with flat tumbled jaspers. And after weeks in the tumbler, I was rewarded with this: As you can see, this time I've experimented with labeling some of the more important function keys, while the letters and numbers remain blank - this keyboard is for the touch typist who still likes the ability to glance at the functions. Unfortunately, while I've had promises of donated keyboards and sent off trade items in exchange, no one has yet come through with any - so making these keyboards is dependant on my being able to purchase brand new keyboards. That's going to have to be reflected in the selling prices. But I have to say, these things are FUN to make and use ! Some day, I'd like to color co-ordinate a keyboard with specific Jaspers. But for now, I'm just having a good time and tumbling more

You can get new keyboards for about $10 at walmart. Mwave.com has them as low as $5.90 (Logitech brand even) but you have to pay shipping.

Cool idea, but it would never work for me. My wife is always yelling at me for banging on the keys as I hunt and peck with my 2 index fingers!

Cool. I couldn't use it though. I am one that has to look at the keys when I type and I see you didn't lable the letters. My typing would look real bad..

My main customers for these are fellow writers, who are intimately familiar with the keys and touch type - but for others, I am experimenting with labels

Looks neat, I couldn't use it though. If I can't feel the raised marks on the j and f keys, I am totally lost. I picked up a nice black Belkin keyboard for $14 at Office Depot.
