(starting a new thread because the last most recent one didn't have the name in the title, <g>)
Just adding another thumbs-down for American Lapidary (other complaint threads are here, here, and here, which unfortunately hadn't thought to go looking for before I'd ordered from them myself).
Made an order mid-Feb. Hadn't heard anything by first week of March, sent an email. They did not respond to the email for another 11 days (good thing I wasn't in a hurry). They shipped the next day after that response, which made it about a month after my order. The package arrived, but half the order was not there, and what wasn't sent had been crossed off the enclosed invoice with no explanation.
I gave them several days to see if they were going either issue a refund or at the very least tell me what was going on (backorder, future estimated ship date), but apparently they aren't going to do either one without another followup (and what they didn't send was some tumbling rough that is advertised as being mixed end cuts and such. I can't see that being a drop-ship sort of item like equipment. Or even a backorder item for that matter - why would you advertise end cuts for sale if you didn't already have them? Is the delay because they now have to go cut a bunch of slabs just to sell me some end cuts, or what? At this point, I'm not sure I'd even be terribly surprised if that were the case...). So I've sent another email to see what the story is, but I'm not holding my breath that I'll get an answer anytime within the next week or even two weeks.
Not really out much with them in time or money either one (thankfully), but thought I'd add my experience to the ones already posted (and collect the related threads into one post while I was at it).
