ty, i very happy to hear you all like what i sent Stonesthatrock. Need some schooling. I have never known a variety of quartz to be cubic. The "Amethyst you show in this link www.flickr.com/photos/stonesthatrock/ looks like Fluorite to me. Can you help me with this? I have never seen a variety of Amethyst that is cubic.

ty chad for the correction You know i looked high and low to try and figure out what the heck that was lol Schooling? lord knows i need all the help i can get, i've only been doing this for 2 yrs. Its good to know someone has been looking in in flickr though. the story on those pics, is someone an artist is making a huge picture out of rocks and needs those colors. So, i send him those pictures in the kind of rock and color he was looking for. Hopefully he will buy them from me.
ty again for the correction, i do apprecitate it.

A very deep purple Flourite is what I think it is. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I was trying to be nice and also was considering I could be wrong. (I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.) ;D I lived in the shadow of Mt Palomar for many years before I moved. Home to the Pala King and Pala Queen mines. Beautiful Tourmaline. I Know a thing or 2 about digging the pegmatites. Quartz and feldspar separating from each other in granite. I seen a place where black tourmaline shoots like rays of the sun from a black center mass a couple feet in diameter, rods big around as your thumb radiating outward 30' shot thru white granite.
