I picked through a tub of palm slabs at the local show. Most were nice, but this one was way better then the others in my eyes. It is solid and not pitty like palm can be. The needles are well defined and solid too. ... and there is the black. I have been enjoying black backgrounds lately, and this is another chapter of my playing with black. slab (click for larger) Some thoughts on cutting:

I hope to get several like the one in the middle. It is also much thicker than 1/4, so I can make the kind of thick pendant stone I like.
