I was coming up with a couple of different displays for some craft shows this summer, here's a 1.25 inch thick slab of red and green brecciated jasper that I got from Kim, I polished the face on one side, and made a matching cab from the same rock.....

Can-n-slab. I like it.
That one is thick and you would want to keep it, but I have always thought that s 1/4" thick slab of a couple square inches would be a great place for folks to set down some of the pendants I make them. I keep meaning to give a small piece of rough with the pendant, but I keep cutting up all the rough.

I like the idea of having a piece of rough to go with the finished cab. I think people would buy it as a set as well. Steve

You could name this kind of display "cameleon cab" or "octopus cab". Thease creatures are both masters of camouflage, as your cab is. Gorgeous cab!

Yup, very neat idea. People will like seeing where the cab "came from!"

You better make sure to have a couple of those pendants, as that one will get snagged pretty quickly. The display is really cool!

Man I had to look at the second pic to see what was posted on the first one! I couldn't even see the cab & chain on the first picture. Then after I thought it was to show the cab melting with the slab - beautiful everything, now that I can see properly

Cool idea! I've thought about doing that in photos of cabs. It also looks cool if the rock is rough. That way you can see the finished pendant a little better. Wonderful effect. Oh yeah, I do have a photo. Here's Tony's jade in front of a piece of the rough. Steve

That would make a very classy display in a case on black velvet or velour. Maybe too classy for a craft show. Hmmm........

Cool Idea! I use rough turquoise and lapis to display my bracelets at shows. People get a better appreciation for the work involved when they see the rough stone and finished piece.
