It's been a while since I've made cabs, but I'm back on the cabbing bus! I recently redesigned my work area to be more ergonomic (which happen to coincide with a back injury) and it's working out great! Man it feels good to be cabbing again. Here's the first batch in a long time. Hope you enjoy them. Steve First, some agate from the RTH Burro Creek trip last year. Here's a cool blueish gray one. That blue dot is from the camera. Some neat brown stuff. It took a real nice shine and is a real warm stone. It reminds me of a latte, that or baby poo. You decide. Some poppy-ish jaspers. These are a little over an inch tall. And the little guy. This one is real thin. I'm leaning toward thinner cabs and this ones about 1/8 of an inch thick. It was an end cut to begin with. Another poppy jasper from a different location. The matrix as almost like hematite and really shines. In person, it's a little darker. I didn't even know it had the green tone until it got to the polish stage. Sadly, this cab had a friend, but the friend didn't make it. It was a cab-o-gonner. More of the first kind. This one's a little over 2 inches and very substantial.

Wow, I really like that dark Poppy jasper. The quartz streak is cool.

I take the latte over baby poo any time lol. The poppy cabs are great. I like the one with the dark jasper; really makes the poppies stand out. I really like the second latte; the shape really works for me; really draws the eye to that chocolate rose lookin thing in the center right.

Steve, these are really nice. The poppies are sweet. The one with the dark matrix is something else.

The wee poppy jasper cab is great, too bad the cab machine ate its friend. Your machine must be like mine, in having an apetite for stone you do not have plenty of. Woody

Heeeee's baaack! Looking great Steve. Love the poppies. It's a lot nicer to be able to sit and cab rather than stand for hours. Make sure you put a rubber mat down for those cabs that slip out of your hand.

Woody, I bet our cabbing machines know eachother. Luckily today mine wasn't hungry.
Tony, those did not come from goat rock, but I have found a lot of nice jaspers there. Too bad most are too small for cabbing. Now and then I find some big enough. These jaspers are from the same formations of the ones at goat rock, so I'm always keeping my eye out for some poppies there.
Ed, yup, I'm back. I still gotta watch it, but man it's nice to be cabbing again. I had the cabber cabbing and the saw working on some poppy jasper and some AZ stuff all afternoon. Man it felt great.
