This is the belt buckle I am making from a nice piece of petrified wood I found up by Mt. Saint Helens. It is 1 1/2" X 2 3/4" X 3/16" Thanks for looking. chasfire

Beautiful piece of wood . . . looks like regular wood wood. Is it going on a custom buckle? Either way, ya gotta post that pic! Rich

Rich:
I am going to put a strap buckle(I'm not sure that is what it is called) on the back, so that only the wood shows. So except for the leather belt there will be no difference in looks from the above picture.
I have one now that is similar to what I want to do. It has a piece of Owyhee Picture Jasper for the buckle. I bought it at a garage sale for a quarter.

That's a gorgeous piece of wood! I love the idea of just making it so the wood shows!

Just excellent. The pattern of the wood is serene and striking at the same time.
