I just unloaded my vibe tumbler with the latest batch of cabs. Only 1 or 2 broken ones. Everything got a nice glassy shine. I think I'm getting the hang of this! In case you think I've lost my mind. I made some connections with wire wrap teachers and they went nuts over my cabs. I've been invited to a couple bead shows and have been asked to be the feature artist at a monthly art hope in the neighboring city or should I say my cabs have. Rick

That dark green stuff (especially the square one in the 3rd pic) is my favorite. Could it be stromatolite?
And, of course, the round Montana is a beauty.

I dunno about stromatolite. It's sold as Kabamba Jasper from Madigascar. It takes a wicked polish. It has nice orbs and other patterns going on. I like the stuff. I think I bought 20 pounds worth from an ebay seller in Oregon. I'm having a Sr. moment and can't remember his dealer name. I hate the CRS infliction I have!
I'll get some close ups tomorrow.
Oh now I remember. rocksj2b2 or j2b2rocks. Now I have CRS and dyslexia. Life wouldn't be fair if I wasn't born so darn good looking. ;-)

Way to go Rick. I can't seem to want to sell any of my cabs yet. Soon though, they are piling up.

There's a lot of cabs there. Congrats on the sales. Seems like the tumbler method works well.

Stoner,
At first I didn't think I would like tumble finishing my cabs. Once I start cuttng a stone I like to see it through until it's finished. But the polish I'm getting is better then if I did it by hand. And there's no polishing and finding a scratch you didn't sand out so you need to go back. Plus it save wear and tear on my wheels. I only use an 80 grit diamond to rough out and a 280 grit Nova to smooth out the lumps and bumps. Then into the vibe tumblers.
Wirewrappers love that the back of the cab is polished too.

Rocky,
I don't know. One was broken on the edge the other had an end broken off. I used a Harbor Freigt vibe tumbler for the polish and I think that's when it happend because the breaks were clean. If it would have happened during the grind phase the fracture would have been smoothed a bit. THe HF tumbler tends to have a litttle up and down vibration to it. I ordered a Thumlers TV-10 to replace it. So there should be no more breakage.
