i've been working on these off and on now for weeks and finally got them buffed up, first up an unknown agate that looked a lot more interesting before it was domed, i guess that happens sometimes, took a nice shine (25mm x 18mm): another pot leaf for Randy, um, i mean a peice of seraphinite that Stoner gave me (30mm x 22mm): this is a piece of picture jasper (30mm x 22mm) that Sandsman sent me a few years ago, you can't see very well in the photo, but it looks to me like a smoke signal in the distant sky: i've been wanting to cab some chinese peitersite ever since Stoner started showing his stuff, got this off ebay for a Xmas present: now these next three photos are of a material the eBay seller said was "Orbicular Ocean Jasper", never seen stuff like it before and it varied in hardness, color and patterns, but it was cool, this first piece is a 30 x 22mm oval, the second is a "cabosave" but mainly 25mm x 18mm (edge cracked off) and the third one is also a 25mm x 18mm (please try to ignore the dust and hairs that i didn't notice until after the photos): and next is a nice little light 25mm x 18mm Mexican Lace Agate: and these last two (both 25mm x 18mm) are from a single slab of pet wood that Kev (cpdad) sent to me when i was looking for red pet wood. i have a few more cabs to squeeze out of this slab, thanks again, Kev! thanks for looking, KD

I love the lace you come up with, KD. That's a pretty piece! That Orbicular Ocean Jasper doesn't look very ocean jaspery.

Well it's about time! Things must be thawing out back there. Nice set of cabs, the smoke signal is cool. My 30x22 seraphinite cabs usually come out more like 28x21, that stuff is like grinding butter. Orbicular ocean jasper? I thought ocean jasper IS an orbicular jasper. Cool cabs just the same.

Beautiful cabs, KD! The third one is magnificent, like a view above the clouds. And I can see the distant smoke too. The red pet wood in the last pic and the Mexican lace are also outstanding.

Spectacular cabs KD. Now to pick a favourite...hmmm...hmmm...you'll have to come back to me when I have had a few months to decide.

pot leaf? that is what Randy was calling it..... i'm sure i have no idea what he meant by it......... anyway, another update on that Royal Imperial Jasper...IT WASN'T ME! the same seller has another lot up for auction, check out what he's labeled it: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230243407897and compared to the prices listed at the gem shop, this is a real deal for this material.
