Here are some of the pictures from the great trip we had over at Delta Utah April 9~12...The temperature was great, and everyone: tony (Catmandewe) and wife Kathy Roger Bush (Rbush) and wife sherry Ozzy (Rockwizz) and wife Myrtes and son Josh had a great time!!! Here are some of the pictures from the trip. I must admit, thursday when we got there...it was kind of cold. the night was really windy, and did not have a good time at all...here is josh after Thursday. Tony (catmandewe) showed up Friday morning and quickly setup tent, and we were off to the hunt. Tony quickly found a 100lb piece of jasper he could not pass on...here is tony hammering away after a great rockhounding experience on Friday...we went into town for a great chicken fried steak dinner at the rancher. here are the rocks: the terrain littered with agate and jasper and apache tears geodes a piece of tanzanite I found topaz at the geobeds operation agate and jasper hill

Great pictures Oz! I still think that Tanzanite is one of the coolest rocks I've seen yet! It was a great trip and you can sign us up for next year right now.

Man I am sure sorry I couldn't make it!
If people want to keep coming back to these great locations, it will soon be starting to look like the western half of the US might wind up with an "annual RTH field trip" to some place or another nearly every month of the year!
What do we have so far-, WWR, Burro Creek, now Delta, what will be next?
Hey Tony, how about lining us up a trip to Bruneau Canyon or Willow Creek?

Hey Steve-- It really was a great trip...I think the only thing that kept people from flocking was the gas prices skyrocketing as they are now however, I think we are going to make this a yearly event every April early in the month to get the season started. I also would like to make some t-shirts as a souvenir of the trip...but I'm having a hard time locating a dealer that will do those for me. If you know of anyone that does t's and can design a cool Delta RTH 2008 t for us let me know. Ozzy

I still think that Tanzanite is one of the coolest rocks I've seen yet! Either someone carried some rocks from halfway around the world and left them laying around- or that is something other than Tanzanite, which is only found in a couple of localities in Africa www.mindat.org/min-3885.htmlI think its more likely that is blue topaz

Cool, I take that over tanzanite. I will have to have it checked though to be sure.

Rockwizz, and everyone else who sent in pics of the trip - thanks for sharing.
Im in the market for a chunk of Topaz from that trip - so if anyone wants to Ebay some I would place a bid - or I can do a USD business cheque no probs.
Awesome pics and again thanks for making me jealous - the desert seems so desert and yet so appealing to be there.
