Hello all. I am new to the hobby and really enjoy the forum. I have the Lot-O and like it but I also want a rotary tumbler. I have done a little research but thought I would ask you folks which one of the above tumblers you like better. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Welcome, Norseman.
I'd go with the Thumlers. Better yet, get the two-barrel AR-2 for a few bucks more. You'll find far fewer complaints around here about Thumlers than Lortone.

The Ar-1 has a much better motor and bearings. The drum takes some getting used to. The Model T has a similar "skeleton frame" motor as the Lortone but I think the AR1 motor is really worth the increase. I also would recommend the AR2 over the AR1. You can run one drum at a time or two different steps or save one for polish.

Thanks for the input. I am surprised, I think, that you both like the Thumbler better. I was guessing that the Lortone would have come out on top only because of the leakage problem with the Thumbler I have read about. I do like the idea of a better motor and bearings though.
