Here's 12 more cabs to start off the week. Amazonite Royal Velvet Obsidian Condor agate Another Condor agate. Those horizontal lines are inside the stone, not scratches. I kept trying to sand them off, but the cab just kept getting thinner! backlit Red Moss Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper, even though it doesn't look like it. The back side of the cab has the yellow orbs, but I thought this side looked pretty unique. Chrysocolla Jasper, need an ID on this. The fractures are healed and filled with something black. You can see how the rock broke, shifted slightly, then filled in the fracture. Brazilian agate Upside down backlit Red Horn Coral Ocean Jasper Unknown Plume agate backlit Thanks for looking.

Very nice cabs. Great shapes and fantastic material. I like all of them and the O.J. the best.

Very nice composition of the Brazilian. Royal velvet stands out too. What was the source on that?

It must be something about different colored forums, because I love the ocean jasper and the red horn coral!
(gemni, you made me chuckle...where in the world, indeed!)

Thanks everyone. The Royal Velvet Obsidian comes from Mexico and I've been buying it from orchids9 on ebay. It has to be cut at just the right angle off the flow lines in order to catch all the colors, otherwise it just looks like black obsidian.

Yours has a little more gold than the pieces I got form orchard9. I get mostly purple. lt blue/ green, with a hing to pink. Sansroc sometimes has slabs with a little more pink/blue.
If I'm starting with a nodult, I generally super-grind the skin off and then look for the most promising plane to cut.
I also find this material chips less than other obsidian.

All of them are fantastic Ed, but I like that plume. Looks like an underwater scene.
