Stonesthatrock has done it again! A great surprise showed up in the mail on Monday. I wish that my photography did her work justice. She made them from some of my tumbled emeralds. The way she balanced the colors and sizes of the stones is just remarkable. Beautiful.

YES, aren't they? Randy, what is going on here? Do I have this posted in the wrong place? Should I have put it in the jewelry section (I believe there is one, but honestly I'm not sure without looking at the directory), and since I don't routinely look at the jewelry section (if there is one) why should I think anybody else (like stonesthatrock who made these, or other people who have struggled with emeralds, or other people that would like to know what somebody made of somebody else's tumbled rocks, or others who happened to be in AZ at the same time stonesthatrock and I first struck up an acquaintance....Anyhow, much as I hate to say controversial things in a place that's so wonderful and congenial, in the past, by now there would have been at least a half dozen or maybe many more comments on this post. This is beautiful work done from tumbled problem stones, and in the past this would have promped plenty of comments and discussion. If it doesn't now, I can only assume that it is because it isn't getting found.

Puppie - I haven't been able to get proboard pages to fully load for 24 hours. I first noticed the difficulty when I was trying to get to this page (so yes, I did see it!) and it has been a mess ever since - until now!
Those are beautiful, I like the combination with the pearls, too. Interesting that the inner necklace is in groups of 3 on the back half, and singles on the front - is this to balance the size difference of the stones?
Anyway, please don't lose heart. I think Proboards has had trouble for the last day or so. I think this was the correct place to post this. Either this or General Rocks Board. I don't think we have a jewelry section...?

hi puppie, your so kind to post pictures of the necklaces. I had a blast making them and trying to figure out the best design for each one. On the inner one, i used the groups of 3 and single larger ones only in the front. I have more emeralds to work with and i can't wait until i find time to drill more and put it together. Ralph and I bought a home and have been very busy remodling. I didn't get a chance to answer your post and ty properly until today, as i wasn't feeling too good, I think i was working too hard, god forbid lol
ty again puppie your a sweetheart. enjoy the necklaces, i;m working on more.

Sorry about the rant. It's great to see what somebody can do with those stones. They are so nice, seems silly to just leave them lying around -- and Mary Ann outdid herself, didn't she? I don't know how to link to the wire wrap she did with some others. They are really an amazing work of balancing the sizes and colors. All of this started because I want to give a necklace to a friend with a May birthday. Now I have to give one away. Wah.

LOL Puppie! I take it you can't decide? They are really nice necklaces, especially knowing she had to drill the emeralds!

i have a drill press and diamond bits. I just have to make sure they are in water. I won't say its easy, only because of the time involved standing up and holding each one. But i love to be able to make someone happy and surprise them with something I made. Surprising ppl is my favorite thing to do. Just the smile on their face, or the excitement in their voice is all i need for payment. I will be working on the next ones very soon.
ty everyone
