I know the latest Delta trip just ending a few weeks ago - sorry but i wasn't on the forum yet. All I've been reading about and seeing are these great finds near Delta. Anybody got a date on the next trip? I gotta get me some of that! Thanks!

Hey Matt, Next trip is to Big Sur for Jade first week in June, then Oregon for all kinds of stuff the last week in June. I think the next Delta trip will be next spring, unless you can talk Ozzy or Steve into showing you around there sometime sooner than that.

Hey Matt...good to have you onboard. Delta is amazing...I'm thinking next year, we will make it a week long event instead of 3 days. There is just too much to pick up in the area. Topaz, Blue topaz Obsidian Agate, Jasper...dendritic, red, moss and other kinds Geodes galore...
I'm in the process of making t-shirts of our trip and will post them once I have the vendor nailed down.
Early April is the best time to go, but if we like the heat (100+) any time is good as any other time.
Let me know I may be able to meet you over there.
Good luck,
Ozzy (rockwizz)

Hey Ozzy -
Thanks for the info. I don't think I can wait till next spring...all these pictures of geodes and topaz are killing me! Not to mention the gal on Cash & Treasures hit up Topaz on last weeks show. I gotta get something figured out here soon and I'll certainly have to block off a week for next years 'official' trip.

Welcome to the forum, Matt. The trip to Delta with Tony and Ozzy was great and I am definitely going next year, too. But I wouldn't sit back and wait for that, we still have some Spring left, and Fall is great there too. The wife and I were there last October by ourselves and had a great time. I have a couple of family things planned in the next little while, but I'm going down there again as soon as I can. I'll post a message here when I'm able to go again, who knows, maybe I can show you a few of the places we went?

Heck Matt, Delta is practically in your back yard!, well OK so its a couple hours east,(150 miles @75mph- no prob!) -you are probably closer than just about anyone else on the board (well excepting the SLC and other central UT folks), pack a picnic and a full sized spare tire and make a day trip of it, I'm sure you'll have a great time, regardless of who else you happen to encounter or travel with.

Hey Pete - You're right...after thinking about it...I am closer to Delta than most. I had been really wanting to get over the the Geode beds and I finally decided Friday was the day. I took my kids out of school Friday and rolled out headed for the Geode beds. It was the first campout for my youngest daughter...we had a blast.....nothing better than camping, geocaching along the way, and hunting geodes! Had a great time, but there was not enough time in the weekend to hit Topaz or Agate Hill. Will have to catch those on the next outing. My 2 girls found huge geodes...took me an hour to dig out the first one on Friday. My other daughter found another monster on Saturday that took 30 minutes to get loose. Not sure what I'll do with them, but heck, they sure are interesting looking. Also found a few whole ones that I need to run through my saw. Most of the others were just 3/4 or halves. A few pictures: This is only about half of our haul outta there...still gotta get the rest cleaned up
