This is one of the rocks I just got from Yogibear (Bill). The green outside is kind of crumbly (small pieces were breaking off as I polished the face). The spots seem to be quite a bit harder. There will be more of these pictures as I polish stuff up from our trade, I can only identify maybe half of them.

Looks like Aussie Rainforest Jasper which is actually a form of orbicular rhyolite. There is also a very similar form of rhyolite out of Naches, Washington here in the US that is called Thunderegg Matrix....Mel

The "thunderegg matrix" makes sense, Yogibear is from Washington and he sent me some thundereggs too. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, the T-Egg matrix is unusual stuff and can still be had in huge chunks. The T-Egg part polishes like glass but the deep green material is usually more porous and doesn't polish very well. Some of the specimens are really cool even in uncut condition as the "eggs" protrude from the matrix and are very neat looking.....Mel
