Ozzy, those banded ones are fantastic! I haven't cut very many of the agates I found there, but I've only found one small one that had any of the banding. I guess I'll fire up the saw today and see if I got lucky and found anything nearly as cool as you did!

Hey Roger -- usually the red jasper with agate inclusions has bands in the middle.
One question -- on your saw...do you know if there is a way to adjust the water flow so it is more evenly spread out? I'm finding that the pump lever usually will raise or lower the level fine, but I have to adjust it every time depending on the size I'm cutting. I would like to know if there is a way to keep the water flowing evenly in the cutting area?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I went out riding the atv's with my son and his wife, and we were gone all day.
My saw has a fitting on top of the blade cover that the pump hooks to and that sprays both sides of the blade, so I've never run into a need to adjust the flow. I get plenty of water on the cutting area that way. In fact I have to take off my watch first, 'cause the overspray totally soaks it. ;D What kind of blade did you end up getting? I just kind of stuck with the HF blade and never even looked at anything else, so I'm kind of curious how the other brands perform.

I got a thin lapidary blade from China. It is very good for agates, but I toasted one Saturday after about 100 cuts.
I guess I'm learning my lessons.
