I bought a used viking vt-14 vibrasonic tumbler. Does anyone have instructions or know where I might be able to get them. I haven't had much luck contacting Diamond Pacific for instructions.
Thanks
Diane

I think you could pretty much use the Lot-O instructions at therockshed.com. Check them out. But basically damp rocks so the grit sticks, and use ceramic to help get the load right. Start with 120 or finer - not 90g. If you want, the guy who invented this tumbler wrote a book: www.mamasminerals.com/page/MM/PROD/BOH-TUMPOSome folks here have the big vibrasonic 40lb unit. I will be setting up a minisonic 4lb unit soon. Keep in touch.

Diane, Don Depue at Diamond Pacific would be the one to talk to. What specific info do you need? I should be seeing him next weekend at the Grand Junction show and can pin him down there. He is very sharp on all the technical how-to's.

Hello Diane,
I have an instruction manual for the old Geode Industries VT-35.
What do you want to know!

Hi Derek
Thanks for the help. Johnsjems is trying to get me a parts list, and instructions for the vt-14, but in the meantime, I need to know about how much grit and water to use..........I know a vibe is alot different from a rotary, and how full to fill it.
Thanks
Diane

I can tell you how much water to use - none that don't stick to the rocks. It does notmatter what brand of vibe. You rince the rocks and dump out the water. Thats it. IF you notice too much slowdown after you add the grit, you can squire a few times with a spray bottle.
The may be more exact information in the booklet on the fill, but "mostly full" - that gives the proper weight the motor and springs are designed for.
Good luck

Hi Excelent advice from Deb193redux, above If you add a lot of water you end up with a rock "washing machine" washes all the grit to the bottom of the barrel, As above , tip it ALL the water out add 1/2 tea spoon of soap flakes to help the grit stick to the rocks and away you go as Deb says if they start to go slugish just add a few squirts of water If you want Connrocks recepie for the 4 1/2 lb Loto"O" which I have sent out to a few people email me john@matco.me.uk and you can get results like this forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=trtphoto&action=display&thread=23276Hope we have been of assistance to you Have a good day Jack Yorkshire UK

diane --- the only thing I would add is that I start with 220 grit ( nothing courser) -- I use too, but ,I have wore out 2 barrels over the last 30 years !! ;D --- think the biggest prob was that I had one big rock ( baseball size) and the rest were smaller -- the small ones couldn't push the big one up the side ,so it would just turn at the side/bottom where most the grit was --wore a hole right where the big rock was

Its been a few years since I asked for this info, and I still refer back to it. Diamond Pacific now owns these tumblers and resurfaces the barrels. I sent mine back to them and in a short time received a newly surfaced barrel in the mail.
