People can be stupid. Especially since home depot has a web site and reasonable shipping.

Be nice now. 1- Home Depot will not ship a workforce saw, they are in store only.(I want one and have checked)
2-If they are like me the nearest Home Depot is 5hrs away (in the USA)
3-I'm not even sure if Home depot in Canada sells a Workforce THD550, It doesn't show on their web site.
Admittedly I will be waiting until I do get to a Home Depot to get a new one but I can see the reason for bidding.

Scott -
No home depot will ship anything. However homedepot.com only ships things.. I got mine off the web a couple years back. I mean, why would they put saws and stuff on their website if they won't ship it.
Maybe they don't send to Canada though. And .. I don't see the small WF saw on the website currently.

To see the workforce saw on their website you have to first pick a store near you. Then it shows the saw but as only availible in store. Like this. But are you saying if I contact the store they will ship stuff too?? I'd love to get one, everyone says such good things about them. I actually have a USA address too so shipping to Canada woulden't be a problem.

No, I am saying no store will ship.
When I got mine, the WF 550 was on the website, and it was shipped to me. I do not know if why website has decided not to sell this model any longer. I just called the HD customer service (866-513-6723) and they told me that the item is no longer avaliable online. Bummer.
I also heard of someone who was able to buy a new tray for $16 for this number.
It does look like Scott is right that it is not currently avalaible over the internet.
Having said that, there is nothing magical about the WF - it is the quality blade. (Also, the 3/4hp motor is a bit stronger than some.) SO getting a used one with an unknown amount of blade usage may not make sense if you pay close to rull retail. ALso no warrenty.
The ebay buyer raises eyebrows at best. Any used tile saw with metal parts and a good blade - like the HotDog, can be had for cheaper than what they are paying. But, hey, maybe they need parts or something.

Canada's home depots do sell the workforce - but it was $150 + tax last summer - at least they do here in Quebec

Just phoned Home Depot in Regina Saskatchewan. $139.99 , and stores wonder why they get people crossing the boarder to shop.
