I am going on a club field trip to McDermitt. I will arrive late Thurs (15-May) meet up with the club members at 6am Friday and Sat mornings for breakfast followed by a day of rockhounding.

I am likely to jump in one of the other guys car if the road gets bad, but they said it should be accessible.

If anyone wants to join me, I know one or two extra would not be a problem. I can even share my room at the McDermott Motel -with advance notice so I can tell them 2 adults and make sure there are enough beds.

I would sure like to go but I have this problem.......called work. 7 more weeks to retirement (Im not counting though).
It sounds like fun! I grew up in Oregon but I haven't had much time to rockhound there for many years, but it's going to change soon!

Just got back. I did not dig a lot of wood, but some did. I took off a day early and made a grand tour. I went to Highland rock shop in HInes, Elkind rock shop in Prineville, and then RIchardsons Ranch.

Got a whole bunch of rock. I'll post picks later.
