Haven't had sludge since.

Hi Connrock, sorry it took so long to get back here. I have a Thumler UV10. I just took out another batch done with the dry technique and darned if half of the milky quartz is shiny and half is not. I used beads through all steps, changing at each interval and left it in each stage for 4 days, starting with 220. I kept it just wet enough to stick to the rocks, except on washes in between
