Last week, after 3 years of service to this company, a young, snot nose little f@cktard fired me... This guy used to be a driver and since our batchman quit last season, he took over for batching our loads and dumping it into our truck. This dickhead is 28 years old and has a worse mouth than me, (can you believe that)he belittles us and calls us names like #@nts and whores. That part doesn't bother me. We all joke around like truck drivers do when we get back from our loads and today this fart breath was at his normal self so I picked up a can of WD-40 and acted like I was going to squirt him in the crotch with it. He told me if I did he was gonna kick me in my eye, so I told him I want to see how high he can kick and went a head and squirt just a little out, hitting his desk, not him. He got really pissed and told me to wash up my truck as I was done for the day. I got done washing the truck up and went in to punch out thinking I would go get some riding time in this after noon. He had a write up slip sitting there for me and I asked, "oh now I get written up for that shit" He said, no, you lost your job. I asked this little ass sucker 3 times if he was serious and he said yes. So I went back out to get my stereo and stuff outta the truck and came back in. The owner was there and backed him up. The dispatcher, all his old kiss ass would say was "I'm staying outta this" I asked the owner if we were supossed to take his mouth and joking around but when we goof around we get fired? He wouldn't say anything, just asked if I punched out. The owner has fired 3 people in the last 3 years, all of which were two weeks from taking a vacation. Kinda funny huh? I haven't gotten written up, never was late, and haven't had a contractor call back on me before, but I get fired for joking around today. Oh well no big loss, I wanted to quit any way. Just wanted to have another job already lined up. I talked to the last company I worked for 3 years ago the day I got fired and they want hire me back. I start back with them next Tuesday the 27th. I never should have left them in the first place. I have had 2 offers within 2 days of getting fired. What really sucks is I just got beat outta 2 weeks vacation....

Screw the punk. Sounds like he can give it but can't take it. I'm glad you've got work lined up and ready to go.

know any lawyers? sounds like you could sue, or maybe just threaten to sue for the 2 weeks pay. sounds like unlawful dismissal to me. might be worth at least seeing a lawyer for a consultation.
glad you got another job right away, tho. and other offers, too. you are obviously a good worker with a good reputation.

KD, you really are crazy... I don't know all about me being a good worker and all but I do get the job done. With 29 years of driving trucks, I pretty much know what I'm doing. In Wisconsin there is no law about vacation pay. An employer doesn't even have to give you a vacation at all. It's all up to company policy. It was an unlawful dismissal but it was also a blessing at the same time. They are even trying to jack me around on the unemployment now...

Hey - now can you turn the company in for the drunk truckers? Stick OSHA on them and see what happens....

Yeah Edog, you should totally blow the whistle on that little f-er now and see how he handles an OSHA investigation.

OSHA, and any, and all state agencies need a call. Much better than filling his rig with quickdry, even if not giving the same satisfaction. Still, I am sorry to hear the pissant fired you.

Dude, Time to move on. I bet, they are haveing some real financial issues and you get to be scapegoat. I have found, when I had quit, I never did as well as I had. When I got fired I moved up to the next level. Hang in there. It gets better, not easier, better.

Sorry to hear about that. I would send a certified letter asking for a copy of your personnel file. It is good to get those records asap; after something like this. That way if they slander you later you have your file and they can't make sh... up and add it later. It also makes them nervous as it is the first thing an attorney will ask you to do. I wonder if he told the owner you tried to squirt the WD at him and neglected to say he offered to kick you in the eye when you jokingly made your jester. You could also follow up your certified letter with one to the owner letting him know your side of the story and that this goofing around was always tolerated before and you were not notified that it was no longer accepted. (If you are getting an attorney I would run the letter by him or her) In addition you could add that the batchman initiated the goofing around and that it was unusual that he threatened to kick you in the eye. You could also mention that there was no investigation; that you could tell and certainly no one interviewed you. You could then end the letter asking for the letter to be added to your personnel file and let him know that you are seeking the advise of an attorney. The letter in the file is important to counteract the letter they are putting in your file. It will also enlighten the owner. What you really do about getting an attorney is up to you. If they fired you for violence in the work place it could be an issue for those who do federal gov contracting work; something that would come up in a background check. My company is required to do all kinda background checks do to contracting with the state. Some people don't get hired because of what comes back. A few never knew what we found until we told em.

i think its funny....sorry dog ;D....they probably wanted to save the vacation time....but hey....you was gonna spray the dude on the nutsies with WD-40 ;D.....just gave them a reason ;D.
but on the serious side....if a guy is able to spend damn near 3 years with me...or the owners......he deserves his 2 weeks ;D.....if we couldnt get along....he would have been gone within 3 months....or something major would to have happened to change things.
if a person is making you money....and doing there job....i value them greatly....seems the folks had it out for you...or im just nieve....is that a word back there ;D.
glad you got another job dude ;D....id still probably follow him around for a few days....to make him wonder if you were gonna kick his ass when he got out of his car at the grocery store ;D...kev.
