I grind everything down to a 1200 grit diamond wheel. I was wondering what would really make them bright and shiny? Thanks.

I hope this helps. I cut gemstones and cab but personally never have worked with either because I can't afford the rough. Ruby and sapphire are among the hardest of gem stones and require diamond to polish, traditional oxides don't work. Hope this helps.
