Almost done with the fourth load I've run through it and the motor died. Now it just makes a quiet buzzing noise when it's plugged in. Hopefully it's just the power cord. It's a pain to get into it, you either have to pull out a bunch of glued down springs or cut plastic. Should have saved up some more money and got a better one.

If you have the funds, invest in a Thumlers!! I've been using mine for three years, trouble free.

If it hums it is not the power cord. Sorry for bad news , but I can almost gurantee you the motor is locked up.

Dwight is probably correct. The only thing beside the motor would be if the bowl screw was a little loose and you screwed it down into the motor end. How old is the tumbler? If it is less than a year you should have a warranty.

I have a TV-5 still running but with a Thumlers 10 lb bowel because the TV-5 bowl sucks. You can't get good stone movement with the shape of the bowl. I also have a Thumlers 10 UV-10. Both motors work about the same but when it comes down to quality Thumlers is the best. It's all metal and the motor is open so you can get to it. Once my TV-5 bites the dust I will replace it with a Thumlers. Raytech vibes have too much plastic and are not that easy to service.

It's about 4 months old. I'll have to call about the warranty.

I finally called Kingsley North about this and they called Raytech. Supposedly they know there is a problem and will send me a new base, but they don't know when because they have to replace a bunch of them. I think I'll get a Thumler's next time.
