I put a bid on a Thumlers Ultra Vibe 10 before I learned that there was a difference between the industrial model and the regular model. Naturally, I bid on the wrong one, and won it. What happens if I tumble rocks in it anyway?

It's the bowl, I think, that is the big difference, it is not gonna last as long, also it might need waterproofing to use as a wet tumbler-but it will still have it's uses.....

I thought it was just the bowl. johnsgems seemed to say in a recent post that the motor was different too.
Still should last a while and just don't overload the thing. Enjoy it.

If it's not what you want, just re-sell it on eBay.

... yeah, but if you list it honestly, so someone does not make the same mistake as you, you won't get as much, and you will be out your shipping. YOu might recoop some expense or pass on the problem to someone else, or you might get a few years of use out of the thing. Your call.

Frankly, I'd rather use it if I could. Is it necessary that I change the bowl right away?

No. And if your rough is not too rough, the bowl will last a while.

Yeah, go spend $90 on a Workforce, and use it for pre-formed cuts that you have shaped and grinded (ground?) and I would imagine it will get you off and running for a good while. Keep an eye out for good deals on industrial bowls. Buy some ceramic media and plastic pellets too.....I have the industrial UV-10 and LOVE it.

Many thanks! I plan to continue using my rotary on rough & use the Ultra Vibe 10 for finishing, & I hope to get a Workforce in the near future.

If you're gonna use the vibe for finishing, then the already-rounded rocks shouldn't be too hard on the bowl at all. I'd use it until the bowl wears out, then upgrade the bowl.

the 3 main differences are the bowl, motor, and the springs.
