here is a small carasite, that is not a fracture down the center, but the effect wasn't as startling as i'd hoped:

a large (30x22mm) petrified wood:

and a diminutive (13 x 18mm) piece of seraphinite that Stoner sent me:

I would think the first cab is red moss from a Richardson's Ranch thunder egg. The opaque, dull olive patch resembles a section of the outer part of a thunder egg, maybe???
Those are really impressive cabs.
Is seraphinite soft? Is it hard to get a polish on? I've avoided the material thinking it might be a bit of a problem to work with.

And I have a soft spot for the seraphanite as well. There's just something about that stone... Bobby1 - it's soft. It's melt on your wheels soft. But it polishes beautifully!

I pulled out both RR & Carey that I had tumbled & I see the olive matrix! Plus...Carey isn't that dense with the plumy moss stuff. (like my scientific descriptions? LOL)
