Hi to all
I have a question for you all about running the polished rocks in the tumbler with soap for about one day to clean them. It has been a long time since I tumbled and don’t remember what kind of sope to use. Can someone remind me what the best kind of soap to use is?
Thanks So much
Roger

Many of us use Borax (from the laundry department). When I first started, I grated Ivory bars and let the gratings dry - it was the closest I could come to the Ivory flakes that were recommended.

Ivory soap, 99.44. Also, borax works to help in the burnishing, so you could use half and half.

I use powdered Tide laundry detergent. I thing any low suds detergent would work fine.

Thanks so much.
Is borax hard to find? I will ask my wife to get some.

20 Mule Team Borax often hides on the bottom shelves of the laundry section. and if you ask a clerk any younger than 50 years old they give you the deer in the headlights look 'cuz they've never heard of it much less knows if the store carries it.......but persevere, Roger.

20 Mule Team Borax is a laundry "booster" so it would probably be near the "OXY" clean and maybe the liquid fabric softeners.

(Some people don't recommend Ivory because they don't like the smell.)

In our Wal-Mart they have Borax somewhere around the Laundry detergents. That is when they have it, sometimes they have a lot sometimes they have none. Terry

Target stores carry it as well. And at a cheaper price than the grocery stores.

I learned about using Borax in this forum and love how it helps in the tumbling process. Now if only I could find a place to put my tumbler.
