Hi, everyone! Long time ago (around last Christmas) I received a package from Karen (karenfh). I posted it at that time, and today I cabbed one of the stones that Karen sent me. It's an end-cut that I think it's Montana agate with some carneol. Any professional ID would be welcome, but for me this stone is Karenite I forgot to take a picture of the rock before cabbing it, so here is a crop from a picture of the whole stuff that Karen sent me: And here is what I managed to do, two cabs (a pendant and a ring). Both cabs: Both of them again: The "ring": The "pendant": The "pendant" in back-light: Thanks again Karen for such a beautiful rock. I feel somehow guilty for not working earlier such a beautiful stone. But I'm glad I finally did. And I would like to ensure all of you who sent me beautiful stones that they are neither lost, nor forgotten. They only wait their turn to be worked by a - sometimes lazy, some other times busy - cabber ( that's me ;D ) Thanks for looking, Adrian

looks like some sort of Montana agate to me - more precisely, stuff that I got from "Souris, Manitoba" - called Souris agate (mouse agate) Great job on the shine (I'm now blind for the rest of the day!)

Super shine and I like how you have sets in mind when you begin your work. They will look great together.

What a hoot! Karenite! I'm famous now or something, right? Actually, I think it looks like Rainbow Trouterite, or Rainbow Troutitella? (I told Adrian to google Rainbow Trout, the fish...haha, and if he was lucky on his trip thru the US, he may have a chance to hook one!) Actually, that was a little piece I picked up from the Petrified Wood museum in Ogallala; I knew it wasn't pet wood, but it was such a neat little rock, I threw it in with all the wood pieces. I also knew it would find a good home with Adrian, and I was so right! He did an amazing job, what a shine! And folks, it was not a very big piece; he did not waste a millimeter! I can't believe he got 2 pieces, in fact! Way to go, Adrian!
