Wowser! I love that Matra Mountains Moss Agate. Definitely one of the most intensely colored and nicely patterned mosses in the world!.....Mel

Liz, I'm still trying to piece together that name!
They remind me of some of the Fruska Gora (?) agates that Zotika has shown us. Very nice and colorful mosses!

Beautiful slabs! Would you mind sharing your source in Hungary if it's not a secret?
Btw, the name is spelled even more complicated than it writes, lol. But it's such a beatuful name and place, it's famous for it's wines and grapes in Hungary.

Yeah, I'm still trying to pronounce the name. I have no clue. I just call them Hungarian agates when I show people. They certainly are nice, and BTW I haven't been cutting up the nodules for cabs. I got some slabs so I don't have to.
Agategrrl, I rarely see them on ebay, I had to go straight to the source for these and shipping was a bear, especially with the weakness of the dollar. If they do ever show up on ebay grab em!
Funny thing about them, they smell nice when you cut them. It may be my imagination or whatever cutting oil was used, bit I swear they smell like cigars when you cut them, like sweet cigars. They take a real nice polish too.
Arkansan, they might be the same agates Zoran had, or something very close. It was an old posting that inspired me to hunt them down. They have lots of green and red moss like those did. Hopefully Zot will chime in and let us know. Whatever they are and however you pronounce them (I don't even try) they are amazing. Steve
