Some of these are repeats, and for that i do apologize. But here are my vibed cabs waiting for wire. Anyone else notice silver is back above 17 bucks? Lace x 2 unknow - to me anyway, not a great shine, but really cool orbs pic jasper x 2 all unknows to me again pretty sure this is all pet wood Montana Moss blue lace, brazilian and ummmm, i forgot autumn jasper and more "i knew what it was but forgot, durnit, it's right there on the tip of my tounge, oh well, FLAME AGATE!" None of em are perfect or anything, but until i win that lottery, the cab machine will have to wait (to bad i don't play the lotto, bad odds!) Thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed em Alex

A great collection. They should wrap fine. I think slight imperfection is the difference between unique and calibrated mediocrity.

I think that your cabs look great! Also, how do you get such good close up photos?

Beautiful cabs! Some shapes seem to be familiar to me, do you have a set of templates from Steve (misguideonline) and me?

Calibrated Mediocrity? Sorry Alex. Damn fine job on these cabs. Nice cuts to capture the patterns and nice shapes.

Calibrated Mediocrity? Sorry Alex. Damn fine job on these cabs. Nice cuts to capture the patterns and nice shapes. Hey Ed, read carefully. Calibrated Mediocrity is all the calibrated ovals of bland material you can find overflowing from catalogs like FireMountianGems. Cut in Asia and sold over here for nickels. Alex offered an apology for the imperfections in his cabs, and instead I offered a celebration of the imperfections, and shared my belief that freeform, asymmetry, and yes, imperfection, is what raised them above mediocre calibrated ovals. I like you Ed, but did you jump to the wrong conclusion? Or am I mis-reading all thos frown emoticons?

Alex, those are some great cabs and they will wrap nicely. Don't worry about not having a griding machine, I did the same thing you are doing when I started out. Fortunately I did hit the lottery, well the RTH Burro Creek raffle anyway. Keep up the good work.
Daniel, I was kinda going down the same path as Ed after I read your first comment. Remember its sometimes hard to understand a persons intentions just from text.

OK Tony, I agree text is devoid of tone and facial expression and all the other things that help us communicate. Thanks for offering me perspective. I also NOW see that maybe a "comma" after the word "unique" would have helped - or, I could have written "mediocre calibrated oval cabs" instead of the more poetic "calibrated mediocrity" - I see what happened. I just never expected to have to speak so carefully when paying a complement - especially when a quick reread of the one line message is all that was needed. Seriously now, the phrase, "A great collection. They should wrap fine." is kinda a very large clue about the complementary nature of my message.
BUT - I think I still have some room to be annoyed. We also have our knowledge of each other to help us communicate. Ed knows me. We spoke over several days at the Buro Creek trip, shared a ride to the airport, and have several trades, he's won one of my contests, and I have one of his cabs. Ed didn't ask what my colorful phrasing meant, he didn't reread or look at the rest of the message - he just leapt to negative conclusions. He decided I was being a jerk and took it on himself to publically apologize to Alex for what he misread in my message. Kinda cheeky if you ask me.
Maybe the best clue that he was misreading what I wrote should have been the fact that over the last several years he knows I have never said anything negative about anyone's work.

Thanks for all the kind comments all! Adrian, i do have one of the best template set ever created!!!! GRRRL, I made a cheap light box, then went through all the settings on my camera, used different backgrounds, and white came out the best, i then cropped them using the HP photo management tool that came with my computer.
Thanks again all Alex

Nice work on the cabs, I only have a vibe and a WF to make cabs, I know your limitations! Keep it up.
And I hate to even butt in, but-deb, the more I read your posts sometimes, I just wanna tell you to get over yourself. You can be known as the "Semantic Champion" if you'd like.

Deb193redux: " . . . . . the fact that over the last several years he knows I have never said anything negative about anyone's work."
However, everything else under the sun is fair game. ;D ;D
