A while back I sent Dan some material to cut for me, mostly stuff we collected at Woodward last year. Just got the cabs back today. Amongst the WWR agates there is also a Luna Agate (which I call ET), a Blue Lace and a nice Brenda Agate I got from Jamie. Everything else is from West Texas. Oh, there's a Brazilian in there too. I have NEVER seen cabs with this much shine! Don't know how he does it. :oS

I think I remember some of those cabs, but it's so good you gathered them in a single photo! It's such a treat for the eye (with a welding mask, as a protection for the shine, of course).

Glad you like the cabs Susan... more to come. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. I really enjoyed doing these for my fellow HCRC and I can't wait to see what she does with 'em. OMG-Dan HOW do you get that shine?? Just when I start feeling good about the shine that I get I see this!! Really, share please? kj KJ - Susan has asked me if I would come up with some tips and/or a video showing how I work up a cab. I plan to work on that in the evenings this week.... but I don't think I'm doing anything different than anyone else here... I just try to make sure that I remove all the scratches from the previous wheel. I think that the trick is to know how to be certain that all the scratches are removed. I use a jewelers loop (10X) to look at the cab after each wheel... including the polish stages. I'll try to get a tutorial completed by the end of the week. Thanks again all... Dan

I would like to add a disclaimer. Dans cabs are wonderful. Just because I appreciate a man's skills doesn't mean I don't appreciate many other artisans, as well. In particular - Ed, Brian, Jeremy, John, Mark, Jamie, Steve...hope I haven't left anyone out!
I can only aspire to be as good as all of you are.

Those are the people I learned from Susan.... It's a great compliment for me to be compared to any of them.
I took great care to make sure these cabs were the best they could be simply because I wanted you to be happy with 'em.
I hope I'm not stepping on any toes by offering to work up a tutorial for KJ... I'm only doing it because I was asked too... but like I said.. I don't think I'm doing anything different than the other fine cabbers here...

WOW those are great ... whats the blue/red one ? Dennis Dennis, That one is from Woodward Ranch... it's loose filament red moss in blue translucent agate. There are over 60 different types of agate at the ranch. On the trip last March found lots of the blue agate.. mostly plume biscuits and moss... Dan

I always get such great help from everyone here. Stoner got me off my SIC wheels and on to diamond and really improved on what I was doing. I must not be doing as good a job getting all of the scratches out at each step. Jewelers loop is my next purchase! kj
