this is Ed's stone that I bid on This is how I wrapped it. I did not want the silver to over power the stone so I chose to wrap it so that as much stone as possible would show. side view back view/just a little blurry My friend took over an hour today photographing this stone and a few others. I just couldn't wait to get this stones pic up. I'll post the others tomorrow. Ed, I hope I did your stone justice. ps. that tiny white dot up towards the top of the stone is actually part of the stone. It looks like a tiny full moon way in the background. It is just so cool. Thanks for looking Lori

pssst - what did you do down the other side? I'm trying to see what the detail is - is the wire twisted? braided? zig-zagged?
Very nice wrap!

Wow this is great, asi n stone and in wrap. The wrap almost reminds me of Adrian's groove wrap. Not that it actually is, but the sort of minimalistic approach you also used suits the stone perfectly!

akansan, down the straight side it is only one wire that I twisted using a sears battery operated three prong drill, without the drill bit of course.lol. I began by using three 22g square wires over extending the bottom of the cab, followed the curve of the cab and wrapping the wires proportionately. when I determined where the wire would meet the tip of the cab, I took the middle wire and shaped the bail. I then wrapped the bail, grabbed the middle wire at the base of the bail with my bent nose plyers and placed the end of that wire in the drill and twisted. At this point, all wire was still free floating meaning the cab was not yet in the wire. All I had to do after the twisting was figure out how to secure the cab in the wire using the top and bottom ends of the two outside wires.
I know, all you wanted was info on the twist and not an instruction book. I can be a bit long winded..sorry
kislany, thanks. I admire your work very much. If you would not mind sharing your technique with that sunstone bracelet, I would love to try my hand at it. I've been told copy catting is the greatest form of flattery.

Hi Lori, I've added a bit larger picture as last in my thread, check it out. Also described a bit how I made the zig-zag waving, hope it makes sense. As to wrapping the stone, it's pretty much the technique used here for border wrapping. Thanks for liking the bracelet

I'm sorry, but what a hoot! The woman uses power tools! I love that! Going to Sears to research 3-pronged drills... Beautiful job! Is that as thin as it seems in the side view? And, please tell us what the stone is? It must have been in a different thread, which I missed. Thanks for a great post! K

That is such a beautiful stone. The wrap really adds to the beauty without overpowering the stone. Well done!
