Well maybe I should ask this question in a different way. Can someone tell me if this model of Dremel is got the speed and power to work with rocks? I have never had a Dremel tool and don’t know if some got more power then others. Thanks Roger

I think this looks like a good one, Roger. I'm sure there are various power levels available, and I have an ancient, probably 20 year-old model that is still holding up well. Until it totally dies, I can't justify buying a new one. I'd love to have the one you're looking at - and a lot of those accessories can be used on rocks - you'd be surprised. I think the price looks good. Go for it!

Yes, it's a good one for rocks. If you are just drilling holes, it has too much torque. If you want an all-around machine then that is the one. I have the 300 series because the rock store owner in Berkeley CA. teaches rock drilling classes. He recommended this one for drilling and claims his students can get 100 holes out of a bit, following his methods.
