What kind of techniques are there for hand polishing stones. What kind of polish do you use?
I have some nice pieces of those shells left and would like to see if I can get a nice polish on them. I have a dremel with a polishing attachment. Just need to know the best tips on where to go with it.

I polished a few things with emery and aluminum oxide sandpaper before I had any equiptment. I just used 100 grit then 300 then 800 then 1200. Simple enough but huge amounts of work invoved. Use wet paper to keep the dust down and it lasts longer. Its so much work though that unless you are far more patient than me you won't polish many that way.
