I am half way through my first load on the Lortone 3A rock tumbler and I am very excited, though quite impatient. I have been doing my research online and found some varied instructions. I thought maybe someone could help clarify.
First Question: What size rocks should I put in the tumbler? I know they need to be a blend of sizes but what is the max? On the website I bought the tumbler from it said up to 1". Is that before or after? However, on this website I found that it said up to 3.5cm for a 3lb tumber. Thats 1.37" and thats gives me more options. Any suggestions?
More questions to come, I have to assist my father in law at grilling some steaks.

Those would be the sizes going in to start. I think the 1.37" or even a few 1.5" would be ok as long as you had a good mixture of smaller sizes also. The problem with too big is you wouldn't get the necessary action. This is why people with 3lb. tumblers end up with 6lb. or 12 lb. tumblers eventually.

I did a piece of Tigers eye that went almost 2" Just the one piece with the other smaller pieces. Throw in the real small pieces too. If you whack them with a hammer throw in the little shards. Those little guy really help carry the grit.

Thanks for all the advice, I will definitely feel free to mix up the sizes a bit more.
