Hello.....Can someone help me ? I do my tumbling in a UV-10, I mix my slabs and cabs thru the grinding and polishing stages. I follow the UV-10 directions. I have used plastic pellets, always changing them in the different stages, and also tried ceramic pellets. My cabs come out with a gloss shine the slabs have a satin shine. How do I get the gloss shine on the slabs? Thanks

Never tumbled slabs myself. But I'd think that a lot of small material (ceramic media) to increase surface area of your slabs exposed to grit and polish should do it. Looks like you have been doing that to some extent. But maybe go way overboard - say 60-70% media to slabs.
Snowdog polishes a lot of slabs, maybe he'll chime in.

Personally, I'd limit the size of the slabs to 3x1 inches or less for the UV-10. Watch them as they circulate if you are doing larger ones..you'll see gaps that nothing is touching. If nothing else, leave them in an extra day or two. And like Toad said, you may need more smaller - either ceramic or rock to fill in the gaps.
