Howdy folks, Here are a few pics of some of the material I just picked up near our new home in Texas. Very cool half of Tierra Linda Ranch is in the Guadalupe River drainage and the north half where we bought is in the Pederales River drainage. Both deposits are full of nice flint. It runs from opaque to clear and is full of micro fossils too. On a brief hunt, I found weird lumpy nodules to 30 pounds of so and almost fracture free. Can't wait to get my stuff moved so I can tumble some of this stuff! Anyway, a few pics: Picture flint ( found some of this over by Leakey, TX too.) Bright yellow and orange layered hunks: Even the black pieces have eyes, moons and swirls: This hunk actually tends towards purple but it doesn't show well. Lots of fossils too.

You want to send me a FRB of that red stuff & I'll help pay for your move??? Did you photo these wet? If you didn't, that's some of the best looking texas I've seen. Lee

Lee: Yep, photographed wet and it is some of the nicest flint I've encountered too. Didn't have a hammer with me and there was one I had to leave in matrix that was really nice, swirls of red, purple and blue. Got these few samples for my buddies but I can't wait to really do some serious hunting in that area. I hear the Frio River further south is really good hunting.....Mel

I think I'll be down in the area later September or early October visiting my daughter & grand-daughters in Portland (near Corpus). Maybe we can get together for a rock run.
