I always seem to feel guilty to go off alone to cab, but I still manage to get away sometimes. After the in-laws left I got to finishing these - I had dopped them the night before - seems we were supposed to watch a movie .
Here they are:
Some hard leopardskin jasper - my very VERY first cab was out of this stuff
Some club chrysocolla - my daughter stole this slab, I asked her what she was doing with it - she said nothing - so I cabbed a piece for her - it's gonna be wrapped in chainmaille
another piece of Chrys - this one was hers too, - she chose this shape herself as well as the location
A piece of Kim's mugglestone (reminds me that there are no more Harry Potter books when I work this stone)
This is a piece of BC something.... it's nice & purply
Rainbow obsidian - this reminds me of high school: I'm in love with this stuff, IT HATES me!! The shine is better, but still only a matte finish, I'm wondering if you really CAN get a mirror shine on this stuff, it looks okay but it has like a "cloudy" surface
Oh well - here's a picture of my one-sided love affair stone
This stuff is from some tigeriron that I got off ebay a long time ago - it's very soft & hematitey - it kept grinding down on the 3000 belt
This was a piece I got from WarrenA - this was a beautiful slab - I chose - what I thought was the perfect shape, a nice big oval to get the whole shape & the image I wanted - I had just said in my head that I've never heard or seen this stuff have fractures.... well - it broke off!!!! - the top part broke off (and I'd just done said that this stuff doesn't fracture much - *stupid mouth*
so I reshaped into a stubbier flat oval - I wanted the image on the back to be the front but had to settle. The front had more image play and I might have ground too much of the image off if I'd gone with my initial idea.
Front of picture jasper
I might be a bit of a backwards person, both sides are pretty much identical, but for some reason I thought it would have looked better the other way - this one will most likely get a chainmaille wrap - or a wrap of some sorts
BACK
Thanks for looking
