Hello Everybody. Just found this site a week ago and wanted to introduce myself. I usually pick up fossils and rock at the Oregon coast. Lately have been looking in the coast range and central Oregon. Bought my first tumbler a double 3lb in May. Finished my first batch of agates, wood and jaspers 5 weeks later. Was happy with them. Decided I needed something bigger so bought dual 6lbs. Have all 4 barrels running always. After reading the message board, I had to go buy a Tile saw. I'm signed up for a week long lapidary camp in Sept. and joined a rock club. I guess I'm hooked. Arne

Hi There, If you are hooked then you are just like the rest of us. Welcome to the board. The camp you signed up for sounds like a good time, we have had some great rock hounding trips on this board. If you can, please take pictures during your camp and share them with us, We love pictures..... Is the lapidary camp taking place in a good rock hunting area?

Hey Arne -- Welcome aboard and brace yourself for a great experience. A few of us from the board made it to the Prineville rockhound back in June and we had a chance to do some hunting in the area,i.e. mainly hampton butte, and whistler springs..
I got tell you, Oregon is really something and I really enjoyed myself while I was there...
We are planning to go back next year, maybe we can get together then.
Good luck,
ozzy

Howdy Arne...I'm 10 - 15 min north of you in "the couve." (Vancouver) There's quite a few of us in the neighborhood. Daniel (deb193redux) is south of us in Corvallis and is pretty active. Welcome to the gang!
