Help! My local supplier, Alpha Supply, has been bought out by some other company and left town - they were my reliable source of good priced Diamond Drill Bits. Now I have a show coming up in 4 weeks and a HUGE pile of freeform pendants that need drilled - - Where do you guys (and gals) get your diamond drill bits? I like sizes ranging from 1mm to 2.5mm. I remember another spot online, but can't for the life of me remember what the name of the company was. Thanks!

Lopacki has low priced Cinese drills. You can also try Lasco Diamond Products. Made in CA with natural diamonds and reasonable in 10 packs or more.

According to Alpha's website, they are in Seattle now at 3601 Greenwood Ave. No. That is just a ferry boat trip from where they were isn't it?

Indian Jewelers Supply ( www.ijsinc.com ) has really good prices, and prompt service. I too used Alpha at least up to last week. Online will beat out doing the ferry. Woody

They are just a ferry ride away, but that's still a ferry ride away - plus a drive to Ballard - so that's two hours instead of 15 minutes from work to Alpha. I was going to order online, figured they're still Alpha, really, but their prices have doubled on the drill bits AND they state right there that they keep your credit / debit card information online. I've had experience with companies who keep your purchase information online - they tend to get hacked. a lot!
I emailed the new Alpha to ask if their Bremerton store is still in operation, for pick ups, but they haven't bothered to respond.

Just checking some online sites, it seems Kingsley North has the best prices. Maybe I'll try a few from there and see what the quality is.

I called Alpha Supply today, especially since I have a back ordered item, and they are still open in Bremerton, and will be keeping the store open. Some prices are, and have been higher than the hard copy catalogue, but it is two years old. Woody

Yeah, I've had great luck with RichonTools with everything I've gotten from them. Wheels, laps, bits. Peter is very helpful and has gotten me some hard to get stuff. T

Well I placed an order with Kingsley-North for several sizes - I was pleased with their prices and figured I'd give them a try. Not only did they have all of my order in stock, but they arrived very quickly, and are of excellent quality (at least on first inspection). I'll be using them this weekend so I'll know if they're really good or not by then, but looking at them I have to say they appear to have more diamond than those from Alpha Supply, so I'm really pleased

Not to hijack the thread but since Tony W mentioned it... How is the quality of the laps at Richon Tools? The sanding discs that came with my HiTech All-You-Need are wearing out very quickly and need replacements and he seems to have a great price on them. Again, sorry to divert the thread but it's better than a whole new one just for this I suppose.

i bought a 80 grit diamond 8 inch metal wheel from him and other then a ridge on the side of it that i never bothered to get rid of cause i use it for rough shaping it still looks new --- dont get me wrong i havent used it on a reg basis but i have ground down many preforms with it so for the price im happy -- i would think his laps are just as good id say buy one and see how it looks his prices are good enuff to just use it , but i never got bad drills from him eather
PS. he did offer to exchange it for me but the wheel ran true and with all the shipping involved i told him dont worry about it
