Anyone ever tumble Ruby in Zoesite? I have some slabs that I cut into forms to tumble but I'm concerned about the hardness...or lack thereof. Any advice?
Thanx

i don't think it will tumble very well, the green parts will undercut and the red parts won't. up to you, but you may be better trying to sell them as slabs to cab.

Someone posted a thread recently, either here or in the pix forum. Came out really nice.

I wouldn't tumble it.like KD said. I have a few pieces that I cabbed..the green polishes but not the red and the green grinds off much easier than the red.

Thanx for the link Roan. I knew I had seen something on it but my search came up blank. Possibly learning to spell would have helped. hehehe
I have some other "soft" materials such as lepidolite and royalite. Thinking perhaps I should try tumbling them together with 120/220 and a whole mess of pellets.

Heh. I'm always trying to tumble stuff I'm "not supposed to". It's fun I've got some kunzite that came out pretty good and I'm trying to vibe tumble some copal and amber right now.
