Since I'm using the Ameritool, I'm thinking that there are some shapes that I won't be able to do, like in a Genie, for example, right? Like hearts, or crosses, where part of the rock will go right in. Any way around it or these are really a no-no for me?

Is there an edge to the Ameritool? If there's an edget where you can drop the cab between the lap and the base, then you can go as ddep as that lip is. If there isn't a space where the cab could rest on the edge of the lap, then you might have to see if there are specialty laps with raised sections.
