Just got done with another batch. I used my 12lb Thumler's Tumbler and mixed condors, woods, chalcedony, and other agates including an awesome Brazilian agate. The reason they are mixed is because I had a lot of left over rough from previous tumbles and I wanted to see what would happen if I tumbled them together. First stage (60/90) ran about four weeks followed by second (120/220) for one week, third (400F) one week then I used some cerium oxide which had been in my garage for about seven years in a gallon container with water. I had polished other rocks with it and saved it and just forgot about it. I let it run for about ten days and it didn't work. After that I used aluminum oxide for one week and these are the results. Condor Agates Close-up of the Condors Chalcedony Mixed agates and woods. The granddaday of this batch...A Brazilian Agate. It weighs one an a half pounds and is just a tad larger than a baseball. I tumbled all these together. Hope you enjoyed them. Condor

That is a beautiful batch. I love the red in the Condors. I'm not a tumbler so I can't fathom why that grandaddy didn't smash the smitherines out of the small rocks. I know it has something to do with the fill but just looking at it makes one wonder.

Gorgeous batch. Condor's are such dramatic stones with that fiery red... And here I am seeing that bit of pink peeking out in the Brazilian and wondering what's on the inside.

Hi Condor, Wow Sir! Those are mighty fine Agates, and no denying, what a fabulously deepcolour they display- and beautifully polished too - nice Job Mate! I really like the colour combinations in that material, it's such a rich and opulent looking finish - very attractive. Thanks for sharing them! I must expand my Agate range further! It's Mexican Lace and Indian Banded Agate to come next - so keep your eye's open for those Cheers, H

Nice tumbles all around, but wow, those Condors steal the show! They look like glowing embers, but with nice fortifications. You did your name proud!
I'm kinda surprised too that the big Brazilian didn't beat everything else up. Biggest thing I've ever tumbled was no more than 2/3 that size, and I used lots of pea-size garnets to help balance the big with the small. Well done!

Wow, those Condors are awesome! I wonder how long it would take to grind that Brazilian down to the bands?
