Yep, I really, really think you need to come to Nebraska. We are very boring. We have lots and lots of old parts and stuff. You could have a blast! You are so talented. I bet your kids think they are very lucky! Way to go! K

I see a spot where you could mount a rock tumber. Oh wait.... Tumbler barrels for tires!!! Then you can polish rocks as well as tear around town on that thing! ;D Steve

Geez, Randy, wish you lived closer. I have a 1983 GS1000E that just needs a little work to get it back on the road, but the problem is that I haven't been able to find anyone yet that I'd trust to do the work properly. It's had some modifications such as an oil cooler, K&N "coffee can" air filter to replace the air box, 4-1 Kerker headers / megaphone pipe (open), straight "drag" handlebars, black metallic paint, etc etc etc. Big fun to drown-out Harleys at stoplights!

MichaelJohn, I don't know anybody down your way; but, there is a shop in San Jose that I'd recommend. The owner is a bit of a Ducati fanatic right now but he also has had many GS1000's and 750s. If you want contact details PM me.

Randy, it's kinda buried in my shed right now, but I plan to dig it out in the next few weeks. I'll take some pics for ya once I get it outa there. It's really WAY too much bike for me, so I'd like to sell it. I haven't even SEEN it in a couple of years!
Dean, thanks for the offer, but that's way too far to be feasible. The cost to get it back and forth would be phenomenal.

Actually, several people from the shop I mention visit Pahrump for track schools. Doesn't seem like to much of a stretch of the imagination to me that maybe you could work something out with them. Or not, just kinda throwing it out there for ya to with as you will.

They VISIT Pahrump??? Most people just wander in here and get stuck!
Well, in that case, I'll try to get in touch with them. I'm just a bit skiddish about trusting someone to do it because I've gotten a similar response from several bike techs ... they wouldn't touch it and told me to find someone who knows these old rice-burners otherwise it's liable to get all f'd up. Apparently the old carbs are real touchy, and balancing the "free-flowing" system (K&N in front, open headers in the back) isn't an easy task.
Just noticed I typo'd my earlier post, it's a GS1100E, not a GS1000E.
