I'm HORRIBLE about checking on my tumblers. I have 3 batches that have been in polish for 3 weeks! Am I the only tumbling slacker?

That's funny!
I am a slacker in the shaping stage, especially when I know I have material that will take a long time.
I am a slacker in another way. I sometimes start a batch, get sidetracked after removing the tumbler and let it sit until it hardens.
I never let a barrel sit for three weeks in polish, 3 days is too long in polish for me, can't wait to see the finished product csroc

*S* With me it seems to be the prepolish stage I forget. I try to keep a log book but the grinds always seem to take the most time and get the most attention. Lots of times the prepolsih stays in so long the stones come out polished......Mel

Slacker............Maybe ? do you hear the sling shot of rock bunching off each other.......from a thick rich slurry that is about 1 oz. of water from turning into cement.
I have a 24" x 10" rotary Oct. well 70 Lbs. of rock and 3 cups of 40/70.....
Set timer on Brain for the one day ? ( Three Day`s later ) then to check slurry. I should`v let it go to Pudding Stone.......... I added soap & water and a box of Soda ( Never tumble with out soda & 7 )

I'm more of a slacker who's starting to take the shape of a tumbler.

I'm retired,so I can't wait.I use vibes almost exclusively,so it's not too bad.Mike. P.S.,as Sabre52 indicates,extra time in one stage probably means less in the next.

That's very true...but come on...3 weeks in POLISH? I've got no excuse. I should just hang my tumbling hat up now. I've got a batch of really hard agates that's been in 60/90 now for 3 weeks too...I'm betting that's doing a whole hell of a lot of good. See, I go downstairs where my cabbing machine and my tumblers are, and my cabber just calls to me. "Come and play...forget about those ol' tumblers..." It's the little devil on my shoulder.

Slackers,,,,,I HATE slackers!!!!!
I am perfect in my tumbling efforts and NEVER forget to stick to my strict schedule.
I write EVERYTHING on a calender on my wall and that keeps me right on!
Oh,,,,,Did I mention that the calender is 1996!!! LOL
I guess I really like,,,,,,Why do it today if you can put it off till tomorrow???
I'm a slacker (BIG TIME) when it comes to the rough stage. I HATE re-charging and re-charging and re-,,,,,,,,,, A lot of times the 1/2 roughed rocks sit there for a LONG time before I get them tumbling again!
If it wasn't for my vibe I think I would go bonzo waiting for a load done completely in a rotary!
Slackers,,,,,,Nice people!!!!

I'm a slacker. I haven't had anything in any of my tumblers in about three months!

I'm a slacker too! But if you slack enough in the coarse...it will eventually end up finished in one barrel! Now THAT'S what I'm talkin bout!

I stopped slacking this weekend and recharged my barrels. Now I've just got to stop slacking with the picture-taking.
