We just got back from our trip to northern Wisconsin. Joi is still sorting through the trip photos but I wanted to share my finds and purchases with you all. The following photos are of some rock that I got at a rock shop in the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan. The peninsula spans through lake superior. The owner noticed my pendant and asked where I bought it. I explained that I made it. He asked to see my cabs. Long story short I got $140 worth of rock for 28 cabs even trade. 10 pounds of lakers 14 pound chunk of Canadian mountain jade. 2 chunks of Michigan Kona Dolomite they weigh about 10 pounds each. and a bunch of slabs. Labdorite, sheen obsidians, picture jasper, blue tiger eye, and a chunk of Lepidolite. On the way home we found a gravel pit in Michigan. I found 4 chunks of kona dolomite. Here is a spot I cleared for the rest of the rock I collected from the Wisconsin river and lake superior. now filled in. Had a great trip and came home with a lot of rock. Family photos and scenic photos coming soon. I also visited Jim "Earthdog" while in Wisconsin. Photos of that visit will be in the next post.

By the look of the stones, you must have had a ton of fun. There is one stone next to and to the right of Mr. Froggy that is purplish with white speckles, would you know what that one is? I found one on the beach in MA that looks very much like it.

Great pics! Looks like you had a good time with those trades. That dolomite is pretty...much prettier than the dolomite we saw when we were in NY at the Herkimer Diamond pits...that was just plain ol' brown.
