I thought this looked pretty cool I found it in one of my buckects. i was told its quarz with black tourmaline needles. Anyone ever hear of it? front back ty ralph and mary ann

Love that stuff! I wish I could find some at the local rock shop. Makes really neat cabs. I do love those inclusions... Don't forget to show us if you cab it!

It makes some really awesome cabs - tourmilated (or tourmalinated) quartz.

what's the difference between that and rutilated quartz?

what's the difference between that and rutilated quartz? It's pretty cool! Titanium 40% / O2 60% This is the needles only. One of the leading sources for Titanium. Tourmaline in Quartz / the Tourmaline is a Primarily formation, as the Quartz is a secondarily formation, which may take place Millions of years later. rutilated Needles same way for the formation the two may have million`s of years between each formation.
