Hello everyone.
I just joined the site and am new to the hobby only in the aspect that I am just now getting serious about collecting. I have been gathering "rocks" since high school. Bought a tumbler from the "Alamo Rock Shop" in Boerne, TX in June and am now going full steam at polishing. I have done one complete tumble of quartz that I "gathered" on a trip to Enchanted Rock area in 1972. They turned out beautifully.
Would be interested in any information about any rock hunting day trips from San Antonio.

Welcome to the board. I am fairly new myself. You should post your tumbles. I am sure we would all love to see them! Have fun tumbling, just remember, it is very addictive! Fran

Welcome from me too - although I haven't posted in ages.
I'm your neighbor from up the road in Medina. I've got to sell (cheap) my rock tumbling stuff, so if you need anything, let me know. I might have what you need and we could meet in the middle for delivery. Maybe get what you need cheap and save on shipping.
I've got rocks, grits, polishes, a grinder, etc. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Welcome fellow Texan. I know the Alamo Rock shop well. I bought a couple of hundred pounds not too long ago from them when they were changing locations. Mostly petwoods. It's not a day trip, but in March many of us from this site will be heading to Woodward Ranch near Alpine, TX to collect agates. Come on down.

Howdy and welcome to the site from Kerrville, TX. New to Texas myself and don't have many collecting locations spotted yet but I sure do love the region. Thanks for the note on the Alamo Rockshop. Was hoping to find a good shop in the area....Mel

Welcome to the board...ever been to Woodward's ranch in Texas? I hear they have a lot of good stuff in the area. There's a trip setup for that in the trips board, I believe.
